Baby boy diaper cake

It has been a busy week so far...we have been painting the living room and I have been getting projects together for G's birthday coming up...but I am attending my cousin's baby shower this weekend...hopefully she doesn't look at this blog so I don't ruin the surprise lol but I am excited and have to show every one of you the finished product....

Here is the diaper cake I made for her beautiful little boy:

I love making diaper things! sooo fun...and the best part, they are all reusable. None of my diaper cakes use any glue or adhesive on the diapers or treats so everything can be used:)

Cheers,

Grason's 2nd birthday....getting started...

So I can't believe that my beautiful baby boy is almost two already! It feels like just yesterday when I was holding him in my arms for the first time. I will never forget that day.
So just to catch everyone up...last year for Grason's birthday we did a monkey theme since that was how his room was decorated...North Carolina had a big tornado come through our town the same day as his birthday party, the power went out, the bounce houses deflated with children still inside, there was no light except from the exit sign and we had about 20 kids hot and hungry lol. But all in all it all went well. An unforgettable 1st birthday!

So, the theme this year is....drumroll please.....BELMO (that's how Grason says it)...Elmo...Sesame Street actually...we want the whole gang there. So tonight I made the Happy Birthday Banner with my Cricut machine...I am attempting to make as many of the decorations as I can.

I am going to put a photo of G in between the Happy and Birthday...
That's the first DIY project for this birthday....more to come!

These are the moments....

Today I just wanted to post the moments that make my days brighter....that make me wake up every morning with a smile on my face.....because these moments are the reason I work hard every day at work and every night on school work....these are the moments that make my life worth living.....

My sweet boy was sick and he just wanted his mommy...my heart melts in these moments.

My beautiful neice Kayden Olivia is pushing along and cannot wait to get home to her own room!

The perfect picture of a wonderful moment captured in time...love this picture

This is my absolute favorite picture of AB. She wanted to wear my Easter hat...and I have to say...she wears it even better than me:)

These are my moments....just wanted to share a few with you....there are truly so many more....

End of weekend post...

So this is my linen closet...and FYI the only closet I have in the house that isn't in someone's bedroom. So I have to use my space wisely. I found these cute black baskets in the Target $1 section and they work great for keeping our washcloths and the baby washcloths separate. Then I used this old ice bucket I have had forever to put all the extra cleaning cloths in. The box on the floor has all our family games when we have game nights and I made the box out of an old diaper box and covered it with an extra curtain I had. The top shelf holds my little green machine which is great for cleaning up spills and stains quickly. I love that little machine!

Now for the pictures of the bathroom....

I used this old basket I had from a Christmas present with hand soaps or something in it to use for the same purpose...only this time I have an extra roll of TP, lotions, hand soap and room spray so its convenient for our guests to find when they come over.
I know that I hate to search for extra TP when I'm at someone's house ( I always feel like I'm snooping in their stuff) so I put some extra ones right above the toilet. I already had this basket too and could never find anything to use it for so I think it actually works out pretty well here.
This is underneath the sink. To the left there is a stackable drawer set which is now labeled with Adult Meds up top and Kid's Med on bottom...that way I don't have to go searching through all the meds to find the right ones for the right age group. On top of that there are two baskets, one is for feminine toiletries and the other for back ups (extra soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.) To the right is a handy bucket I got in the Target $1 section for you guessed it...$1. I put different cleaning supplies in it so when I have to go room to room all I have to do is carry the bucket with me and I don't have to keep going back and forth to different rooms to find things. It's very convenient!
This is the top drawer and has all the kids brushes, hair spray, detangler, hairbows, etc. It makes it easy for them to find them and now they know exactly where to put them back so we are never scrambling on Sunday morning to get to church because no one can find their brush!
And lastly I made a nice collection of first aid items. The front is for the kids, complete with a thermometer, cotton swabs, creams, etc. and the back has other first aid items like alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, band aids and all that.

So that's it for now...these are some of my earlier projects so I'm sorry I don't have any before pictures. But I promise that all my future projects will have before photos so you can see the progress!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Kiss your babies...

My new "work" space!

This is a work in progress but I am pretty happy overall with how it looks compared to how it did. I wish that I had remembered to take a before photo but I didn't!
Anyway, just to give you a visual. I had a very small table where I had the giant computer and the printer and all my books and notebooks for school stacked up on one desk. It was a mess. I needed to de clutter so I could focus and do my schoolwork. So I found this amazing ladder desk at Kirklands:) Love that store!

I got this great frame and adorable lamp...which is now sitting on the edge of the dresser beside the computer desk because it didn't fit on the desk with the height of it being too tall....

My wonderful hubby got me a laptop for Christmas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

So for now, this is it! Its still not complete...I want to put some shelves to the left on the wall so I can store more things and I am going to get a wireless printer so it doesn't have to sit on the floor and I can put it on the shelf in our closet...FYI, this space is literally the width of a door and it's right behind our closet door to be exact...so I feel really good about what I have done with such little space....

Have you done anything with small space that has made a world of difference?! If so, post a link and a photo to the comment space so everyone can enjoy!

Happy 75th Birthday to my Grand Grandfather!

So this weekend my family and I celebrated my grandfather's 75th birthday! We planned a surprise birthday party for him with all the family at his house. My uncle took my grandparents out to a nice dinner and when they arrived home they were greeted by all the eager great grandkids! It was such an amazing and touching day watching the joy on my grandfather's face and knowing that it meant everything in the world just to have his family surrounding him. My grandfather has always been such a guiding light to me and to our entire family. He has the most incredible qualities and was always the man I put every other man in my life against. I am so thankful to have found a man that has those same outstanding qualities I see in my grandfather and the love he has for his family and his wife.
I wanted to share this post because although this is a blog about projects and organizing and being a mommy, at the end of the day, family is everything and it is moments like this that we should all cherish and take advantage of.
I handmade the Happy Birthday Banner to match the color scheme. I ordered the cake from the wonderful Donna Foley who made my wedding cake. I told my grandparents a couple of weeks ago I was doing a school project and needed old photos of the family and them and made two poster boards with a 7 and a 5 of the family through the years. I got the idea off Pinterest:)

So here are some pics. Hope you enjoy and see the love that our family has for each other...through all the chaos, we are all in support of each other and the love is always there!
